Al Jazeera broadcast exclusive scenes of attempts by civil defense personnel and Palestinian citizens in Gaza to search for survivors among the rubble of residential buildings that collapsed on the heads of their residents due to the deliberate Israeli bombing of civilians.
Among the rubble, questions rise: “Who among my family is still alive? Where are my sisters?”
After strenuous search efforts, using very primitive tools, and relying on hands to extract some of the stranded people, some were able to pull out a boy and a girl, and joyful voices rose, “I am still alive,” while signs of astonishment appeared on the faces of the survivors who did not realize what had happened to them.
Other pictures also show the bodies of others being recovered, being carried using simple means after the ambulances stopped working.
