After the detention phase in the army camps, according to the spokesman, the move came to Ofer prison, west of Ramallah, which is supposed to be a station of relative stability, but “there the situation was much worse, as all the prisoner’s clothes and belongings were destroyed, and every prisoner was given a Shabus uniform (a special prison uniform). Regarding the food, he says, “The ration allocated for a room containing 6 prisoners is served the same as for the same room, which now contains 14 prisoners. In addition, it is made in a poor manner and without salt, and the three meals are served together or very late.”
He said that the prisoners in all the prisons do not know anything about each other or about the prisoners in the isolation wards in light of the interruption of visits by lawyers and the Red Cross.
He concluded his speech, “The lives of the prisoners are exposed to real danger in every sense of the word.”
“What is happening in prisons has become exactly like Abu Ghraib prison,” this is how the Palestinian Prisoners’ Club described the suffering of Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons.

Legal warning
Prisoners’ institutions – including the Prisoners’ Club and the Prisoners’ Affairs Authority – issued a statement on Saturday in which they said they had monitored “horrific and unprecedented data and testimonies about the level of systematic crimes carried out by the occupation against prisoners and detainees in its prisons, which are the most dangerous in decades.”
These institutions stated that the prison administration worked “with all the tools at its disposal and through systematic measures to obstruct lawyers’ visits to prisoners.”
She continued, “Crimes and collective and individual attacks on prisoners take place during raids on sections and cells, which do not stop around the clock, and are on a very dangerous escalation, in addition to the starvation policy.”
According to the follow-up of institutions specialized in prisoner affairs, torture was usually practiced against prisoners in centers designated for interrogation distributed among various prisons, and a few detainees were subjected to torture during detention or in prisons after the end of the interrogation period.
The Prisoners’ Affairs Authority and the Prisoners’ Club monitored more than 1,555 arrests by the occupation forces from October 7 until Saturday, adding to about 5,500 prisoners inside prisons until that date.
