He added that this wide area is located adjacent to the Gaza Valley, which the occupation forces talked about and considered it a separator between the center and south of the Gaza Strip, and therefore this area is considered a corridor and the soft flank (in military science), and that is why the occupation forces used it to launch many previous incursions, the most recent of which happened in 2014 war.
He explained that after the 2014 war, we did not witness any incursion from the occupation army, and after all these years it was believed that the Israeli army turned a blind eye to this area, considering that it had become filled with many ambushes.

They used this area as a military base, a starting point, and a main supply line coming from their forces on the border with Gaza. This area witnessed widespread clashes at that time.
He concluded that the occupation forces are using huge bulldozers to build roads in front of tanks and vehicles in anticipation of ambushes, but this has not happened since 2014, even though the Gaza Strip witnessed 3 major wars and two waves of escalation, and this incursion was unlikely due to resistance reinforcements.
Agence France-Presse quoted witnesses as saying that Israeli tanks arrived at the outskirts of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood in Gaza City. One of them said, “They (the occupation forces) cut off Salah al-Din Street and are shooting at any car that passes there.”
