- Copa America (2021).

In January 2022, Alvarez moved to Manchester City, which was a precursor to the player winning more titles, especially with his call-up to the Argentine national team.
“The Spider” played an important role with Argentina in the Qatar 2022 World Cup, and scored 4 goals in the tournament that ended with “Tango” winning the title at the expense of France on penalty kicks, 4-2, after a draw at match time, 3-3.
Despite his young age, Alvarez was one of the main reasons why Argentina won the 2022 World Cup in Qatar when he became a key player in coach Lionel Scaloni’s squad at the expense of Inter Milan player Lautaro Martinez.
