3 prisoners were killed
A few days ago, specifically in mid-December, Israeli media revealed that the occupation army mistakenly killed 3 Israeli prisoners held by the resistance in Gaza, which sparked a state of discontent within Israel, especially among the families of the prisoners who are pressuring the government to conclude an exchange deal.
It seems that the three Israelis had succeeded in escaping the grip of the resistance, and went out to the street waving white flags, calling for help in Hebrew, shouting, “Save us,” but instead of saving them, friendly fire came to them and eliminated them.
According to the details reported by Israeli media, the three prisoners left a building dozens of meters away from the building in which there was an occupation army force. At that time, a soldier saw them leaving the building without shirts, carrying a stick with a white cloth (a white flag, according to the shooting regulations, it is forbidden to shoot at the person carrying it).
The soldier considered the three kidnappers a threat, shouted to his comrades, “terrorists,” and began shooting at them. According to the Hebrew media, two were killed instantly and the third fled wounded into the building from which he and his companions emerged again.
After the shooting stopped, the injured hostage began screaming from inside his hideout, “Save me… Save me” in Hebrew.
An unbearable tragedy
As soon as he heard the third scream, the military commander, who had the rank of major, gave orders to cease fire, and the wounded prisoner came out of the building reassured, but a soldier quickly shot him, killing him, in violation of the orders of the field commander.
After the killing of the “hostages,” the occupation soldiers had doubts about the identity of the dead, so they were transferred to Israel. After examining the bodies, it became clear that they were prisoners of the resistance in Gaza.
The Israeli army announced an investigation into the incident, which Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described as an “unbearable tragedy” and that it made the entire State of Israel sad that evening.

In the Gaza Strip.
