He called the Prime Minister Spain Pedro Sanchez Today, Wednesday, Western countries decided to recognize the country Palestine.
This came in a speech at the opening of the second ambassadorial conference in the capital, Madrid, in which he indicated that Spain had taken a “balanced position” following the attack by the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) and the start of the Israeli war on Gaza On October 7 last.
Sanchez said that the path that should be followed now is to reach an immediate and permanent ceasefire and hold an international peace conference as soon as the hostilities end, and a serious and convincing solution should be reached on the basis of the two-state formula with the support of the international community.
He pointed out that some Western countries still do not recognize the State of Palestine despite its recognition by more than 130 countries, adding that a serious discussion should begin to ensure Western countries recognize the Palestinian State.
He added, “It is necessary to implement a solution that is based on recognition of two states and guarantees the coexistence of Palestine and Israel together in peace and security.”
It is noteworthy that Sanchez recently repeated his criticism of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, considering that the targeting of civilians is “unacceptable.”
His statements caused Israeli anger, as Israeli Foreign Minister Eli Cohen said that these statements repeated “false allegations” and “gave an impetus to terrorism,” and the exchange followed by summoning the ambassadors of the two countries.
The Spanish government previously announced that one of its priorities is to recognize the Palestinian state, but it does not want to do this alone, so it seeks to persuade other countries. European Union Others, such as Germany and France, do so.
