Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi attributed the sudden withdrawal of the occupation forces from the Al-Qarara area, south of the Gaza Strip, to the need for rehabilitation in order to launch a new attack in another area.
Al-Duwairi said that the occupation forces attacked Al-Qarara for 3 days without achieving anything, and on the morning of the fourth day they pushed forcefully into the Al-Zinna area.
He explained that the Israelis did not achieve military success in Al-Qarara, and all they were able to do was greatly destroy the area’s infrastructure, before it retreated backwards.
It is not known where these forces are headed, but Al-Duwairi believes that they will undergo rehabilitation in order to target an area.
Regarding the attack on the Al-Zawaida area, he pointed out that Israel considers this area “the gateway to last October 7,” and believes that the forces of the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades – the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) – left it.
He pointed out that the Israeli forces initially bypassed Al-Zawaida in the hope of reaching other areas. Such as: Abasan, Bani Suhaila, and other areas in the south of the Gaza Strip, but they returned to systematically destroy the region.
Al-Zawaida may be subjected to greater destruction than what Beit Hanoun was subjected to in the north, according to Al-Duwairi, who explained that it still has a very great ability to resist.
He warned that the Israeli army began a third phase of the ground operation in the northern Gaza Strip, where the forces withdrew to the cover area, but they are still in a state of combat readiness to carry out specific operations, according to the development of events.
The military expert concluded by saying that the second phase is still ongoing in the center and south.
