Military expert Major General Fayez Al-Duwairi said that Israel withdrew new forces from… Gaza strip His goal is to reorganize the forces in proportion to the situation on the ground, indicating that the occupation army suffers from a lack of vision regarding the goals of the war.
The occupation army radio had announced – earlier today, Monday – that only 3 divisions (99-162-96) are currently remaining in Gaza after the withdrawal of more forces.
The newspaper “Israel Hayom” also said that the 36th Division that was withdrawn includes the Golani, 6th, 7th Brigades, and the 188th Brigade, in addition to the Engineering Corps.
Al-Duwairi added – in his daily analysis on Al Jazeera – that there are transformations and divisions within the Israeli war council, due to the lack of clarity of vision and setting of goals, which made the occupation army conduct its battle day by day as a reaction to the resistance.
The nature of operations is more important than the number
Currently, what is important – as the military expert says – is the nature of the operations assigned to the forces, and not the number of teams remaining in the sector.
In detailing the situation of the forces on the ground, Al-Duwairi said, “Israel gathered all its forces at the start of the ground campaign, then pushed three teams to the north of the Gaza Strip through two main attacks on Al-Rashid and Salah Streets, with supporting attacks targeting Beit Lahia and Beit Hanoun.”
Al-Duwairi added, “After that, Israel withdrew part of these forces – after the temporary truce – and rehabilitated them and sent them into battle, then withdrew 5 brigades.”
After the goal was not achieved, the 162nd and 96th Divisions were withdrawn to the Gaza envelope area (north and east), and responsibility for operations in the center of the Strip was assigned to the 36th Armored Division,” according to the military expert.
After the division failed to achieve the goal, the 99th Division took over operational responsibility, and it includes 4 main brigades, namely (two paratrooper brigades, Golani Brigade“Givati Brigade,” in addition to the 77th Brigade of the 36th Division, which was withdrawn.
“Each of these brigades is responsible for a specific operational area,” he added, noting that there is no large military force in the northern part of the sector.
With regard to the southern Gaza Strip, the combat organization is complex, because the forces there consist of 8 brigades, all under the command of one division, including the forces of the Gaza Division, after the withdrawal and rearrangement operations, according to Al-Duwairi.
Al-Duwairi reiterated that the withdrawal of any brigade from the battle takes place only if it loses 40% of its forces and vehicles, and he said that “the period necessary to rebuild the forces varies according to the size and nature of the losses suffered by the withdrawn division or brigade,” noting that it requires from one week to Two weeks under a state of war.
He concluded by saying that merging forces or adding a division to a brigade other than its own will not create a major loophole that can be exploited by the resistance, noting that the only difference is that the old commander is more aware of the details of the division than the new commander.
