Israel expects a response from Iran andHizb allah At any moment, and prepare to repel it by raising the state of military, health and internal readiness; this is after the assassination of the head of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) Ismail Haniyeh In Tehran and the prominent military commander Fouad Shukr In Lebanon.
The newspaper “Israel Hayom” published a report on security assessments in Israel regarding the expected response. On the Lebanese front, assessments indicate that Hezbollah is “waiting for an operational opportunity” to respond, in order to extract a price from Israel.
The newspaper explained that the party could have long ago struck Israeli military sites such as aircraft hangars or sea platforms, but it is waiting for an appropriate moment to carry it out.
As for the Iranian response, the newspaper said that Tehran is carefully calculating its steps and may seek to challenge the Israeli air defense system and may try to attack from different places at the same time, such as Yemen and Iraq.
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Galant said that the army is constantly developing its capabilities in terms of defense and offense.
Galant added, during a meeting with a number of pilots at the Israeli Tel Nof Air Base, that the matter must be dealt with at an emergency level and that it could happen within hours.
As for the newspaper “Haaretz”, it saw that the waiting that Israel is experiencing is part of Hezbollah's response to the assassination of the leader Shukr in the southern suburb of Beirut, and at the same time the party is expanding the scope of its attack in the north.
ammunition shortage
For its part, the American website “Politico” reported that Tel Aviv is suffering from a shortage of ammunition it needs to repel a major attack expected from Hezbollah and Iran.
The website pointed out that it is not clear whether “Israel's Arab neighbors will intervene to help” as happened last April.
The website quoted a former American diplomat who worked in the Middle East as saying that “the lack of support from Arab countries in repelling the Iranian attack” will be due to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
Estimates prevail in Israel that the Iranian attack will be stronger than the attack carried out by Tehran previously, and the Israeli army said that it “largely repelled it.”
multi-front attack
Israel fears a multi-front attack from Iran, Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Syria.
“Hezbollah refrained from joining the previous Iranian attack,” said Amos Harel, a military analyst for Haaretz. “But this time, it threatened to participate, as the Houthis did in Yemen.”
Amir Bukhbut, a military analyst for the Israeli website Walla, said that the assessment in Israel is that “the expected response from Iran is planned in conjunction with Hezbollah, Hamas, the Houthis, and the militias in Iraq and Syria.”
“However, it can be assumed that the Iranians will be wary of a disproportionate attack that would provoke a strong response from the Israeli army deep inside Iran, Lebanon and Yemen,” he added.
Our response is coming soon
Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah confirmed yesterday, Tuesday, that the party's response to Shukr's assassination is “inevitable,” whether individually or jointly, considering that the state of waiting for this response from Tel Aviv is “part of the punishment” for it.
Nasrallah said that Israel “is standing today on one and a half feet, and its state of waiting today is part of the battle.”
“We will respond, but slowly and carefully, and Israel's waiting for our response is part of the punishment,” he said.
