This is the shocking moment a cruise ship passenger fell overboard as a couple and child watched on in horror.
The harrowing footage was captured by a fellow passenger on the Norwegian Spirit cruise liner yesterday morning as the ship was making its way back to Taiwan.
It shows the man plumenting from an upper deck of the ship as a couple looking out to sea with a young child see the victim flash past them as he plunges into the ocean.
Upon realising the severity of the situation, they can be seen rushing off camera to find help.
The cruise was stopped for nearly 40 minutes while the crew launched a search operation to try and find the man and informed the maritime authorities.

The cruise ship was making its way back to Taiwan yesterday when the passenger fell overboard at around 11am. TVBS , a Taiwanese news site, reported that the victim lost his footing when he fell from the top deck
Tragically, the man’s body was found shortly afterwards. He was a 30-year-old Taiwanese, man surnamed Li, who was travelling with his brother.
One eyewitness said: ‘We were sightseeing on the deck at that time, just looking at the sea, and then we heard a huge noise.
‘Then everyone looked towards us and someone realised that a passenger had fallen into the sea.’
The cruise liner departed from Keelung Port in Taiwan on Sunday for a six-day trip to Nagasaki in Japan and South Korea’s Jeju Island.
It was making its way back to Taiwan yesterday when the passenger fell overboard at around 11am. TVBS, a Taiwanese news site, reported that the victim lost his footing when he fell from the top deck.
His body was reportedly stored in a freezer until the ship docked at Keelung Port today.
Investigators boarded the vessel upon its arrival at the port to preserve any relevant evidence and try to establish how the man fell overboard.
The investigation is ongoing.
