A Metropolitan Police officer has been charged with misconduct in public office after he was accused of sharing CCTV images of a woman being allegedly raped.
PC Adam Aspinall Da Encarnacao, who is attached to the policing team in West Area, will appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, August 12.
The charges relate to the inappropriate possession and sharing of images concerning the alleged rape of one woman and the rape of another.
One of the women is Natalie Shotter, 37, who died on July 17, 2021, in Southall Park after a night out with friends.
The NHS worker’s mother Dr Cas Shotter-Weetman previously accused the Met Police of a ‘huge dereliction of duty’ on the night her daughter died.

In 2022, Ms Shotter’s mother Dr Cas Shotter-Weetman (left) accused the Met Police of a ‘huge dereliction of duty’ on the night her daughter died
She told the BBC the mother-of-three had enjoyed a night out with a group of pals, before ending up in the park with a male friend.
Her friend became concerned for her wellbeing and approached two passing officers, who allegedly refused to get involved and told him to call 101.
At some point after this, Ms Shotter was attacked and later found dead. Mohamed Iidow, 34, of no fixed address, was charged on December 21 last year.
The Met Police said it had informed Ms Shotter’s family of the charge against PC Encarnacao.
The second woman has also been informed, a spokesperson for the Met confirmed.
A spokesperson said: ‘Our thoughts and sympathies remain with them for their loss and for the impact this news will have.’
Encarnacao was arrested on September 12, 2022, and immediately suspended from duty. He was then charged with two counts of misconduct in public office on July 3, the force said.
The force said professional standards officers were also investigating the matter.
The misconduct investigation will be carried out after criminal proceedings have concluded.
