A female NYPD officer has been left with a bloodied face after a repeat offender beat her in broad daylight, horrific footage shows.
Ernst Delma, 41, pounced on the unnamed cop on a Bronx sidewalk at around 7.10pm on Thursday, the NYPD told DailyMail.com.
A spokesman for the department said police attempted to arrest Delma on Randall Avenue when he ‘struck an officer in the face’.
‘The officer sustained lacerations to her lips and was removed to an area hospital in stable condition,’ they said.

The scene is so chaotic that Delma loses his pants and exposes himself to people on the street before he’s handcuffed.
Meanwhile, the female officer who he hit can be seen on her knees looking bloodied and dazed on her knees while a member of the public keeps her from falling.
The cop looked visibly shaken as blood streamed from her nose and a man pulled her upright from the ground.
Delma’s attack came after she attempted to intervene with an argument he was having with a group of kids.
The assailant, who lives on the Bronx street where he launched the attack, has been charged with assaulting a police officer and obstructing law enforcement.

The NYPD said he has been taken to St Barnabas Hospital for evaluation, and the investigation is ongoing.
Delma was on probation at the time of the assault and has a laundry list of prior arrests, including for assault and burglary, officials said.
It comes as figures earlier this year revealed that Big Apple cops are facing increasing numbers of attacks from felons.
In 2023, the number of officers hurt by violent suspects totaled just over 4,000 during the first nine months of the year.
NYPD statistics indicate that the total number of violent events is projected to land around 5,400.
In the year 2022, that figure was about 4,700 – a 20 percent jump compared to 2021, when the number was about 3,950.
