The municipality criticized Deir al-Balah (middle Gaza StripThe decision of the Israeli occupation forces to reduce the humanitarian zone in the city, warning of the spread of diseases and epidemics in the region.
The municipality said in a statement on Sunday that the decision led to overcrowding of residents, as the number of displaced people reached nearly one million within a narrow humanitarian strip and in high temperatures.
The statement also explained the municipality's inability to provide water due to a number of wells and water tanks being out of service.
The municipality's statement warned of the spread of diseases and epidemics due to the accumulation of waste in the streets and the inability of municipal vehicles to reach the landfill.
For his part, the Director of Supply and Equipment at the Civil Defense in Gaza, Muhammad Al-Mughair, said that the Israeli occupation forces are deliberately pushing the Palestinians to repeatedly displace citizens.
He explained – during a press conference – that the occupation is besieging the Palestinians in an area that is less than 11% of the area of the Gaza Strip.

Deir al-Balah Municipality said yesterday, Saturday, that new Israeli evacuation orders for areas east of the city caused 10 water wells to go out of service.
The head of the emergency committee in the Deir al-Balah municipality, Ismail Sarsour, explained that “the new Israeli evacuation orders for eastern Deir al-Balah have caused 10 out of 19 wells to be put out of service, and it has become dangerous to reach 3 other wells west of Salah al-Din Street.”
As the media advisor to UNRWA said,UNRWAAdnan Abu Hasna: The overcrowding of displaced people in the “humanitarian zone” declared by the occupation in Gaza has turned into “hell.”
He added that this situation has affected everyone, but the greatest damage has been inflicted on the “vulnerable groups” such as children – who represent 51% of the population of the Strip – the sick and the elderly.
