Frenchman Aurelien Tchouameni, Real Madrid star, has become the fifth player to enter the list of injured players whose number is increasing in the “Royal” club’s clinic.
Tchouameni was left out of the national team’s two matches in the UEFA Nations League due to a foot injury.
The 24-year-old left the “Les Bleus” camp on Monday and returned to Real Madrid to undergo further medical tests, but the injury does not appear serious.
Tchouameni started all four of Real Madrid’s league games, having played five times for France at Euro 2024, when Les Bleus reached the semi-finals, but will miss the Nations League games against Italy and Belgium.
He is the third Real Madrid player to withdraw from the France squad after left-back Ferland Mendy, who is suffering from a shin injury. His compatriot Eduardo Camavinga suffered a sprain in the medial collateral ligament in his left knee before the European Super Cup win over Atalanta last month and will be out for around two months.
Therefore, Didier Deschamps, the coach of “Les Bleus”, decided to call up Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Digne to the list instead of Tchouameni and Mendy.
In addition to the three French injured, there are:
- Austrian David Alaba, who will be out until November.
- Spain’s Dani Ceballos will be out for between 6 and 8 weeks.
- Englishman Jude Bellingham was injured in training, and his injury was in the plantar fascia of his right leg, a rare disease, with a recovery period estimated at one month.
