German newspaper Bild reported that Barcelona has paid all its debts related to the transfer of French player Ousmane Dembele, the current Paris Saint-Germain player, from Borussia Dortmund.
Seven years after the deal was signed and he scored another goal for France against Belgium, Borussia Dortmund received 43 million euros, the final payment from the Catalan club, bringing the total deal to 148 million euros, the most expensive in the German league.
Barcelona signed Dembele in 2017 for 105 million euros, plus bonuses based on the number of matches and qualification for the Champions League.
Due to various injuries, Dembele was unable to prove himself at Barcelona, where he played 185 matches, scored 40 goals and made 43 assists, winning the Spanish League title 3 times, the King’s Cup twice, and the Super Cup twice.
The French winger left last summer to Paris Saint-Germain for 50 million euros.

profitable deals
Borussia Dortmund have become a “model” in Europe when it comes to lucrative deals, having made profits estimated at more than a billion euros thanks to player sales, most notably England’s Jude Bellingham, France’s Ousmane Dembele, Norway’s Erling Haaland and Germany’s Niklas Füllkrug.
Since 2015, Borussia Dortmund has followed an amazing sales policy to become the best-selling club in Germany in the past nine years, according to Bild newspaper.
This summer, Bellingham’s move to Real Madrid was worth €103 million, and the Englishman’s La Liga and Champions League double with Real earned Dortmund €20 million in bonuses.
Although the sales of Dembele and Bellingham have generated a lot of money for Dortmund, some of their talented stars have not left the team in expensive deals like Erling Haaland.
When Haaland left Signal Iduna Park in 2022 for Premier League champions Manchester City, he was seen as one of the best strikers in the world, if not the best ever.
However, Dortmund only received 60 million euros, which is a small amount compared to a prolific striker who scored 86 goals in 89 matches in all competitions for Dortmund.
The German newspaper reported that the low value of the Haaland sale deal was due to the exit clause, which stipulates that the player will leave for any club after two seasons of the contract if the club pays the value of the penalty clause, without returning or negotiating with Dortmund.
