The body of Turkish-American activist Aisha Noor was returned to her hometown of Didim in western Turkey after she was shot dead by an Israeli soldier, and her funeral turned into a mass demonstration attended by thousands of Turks.
According to a report by Al Jazeera correspondent Amer Lafi, Aisha left her town when she was a baby girl of no more than ten months old, heading to the United States, and returned today as a lifeless body, leaving behind the broken hearts of her family and loved ones.
The funeral participants considered Aisha’s sacrifice of her life in solidarity with the Palestinian cause to be a strong message to all those who remain silent about what is happening in Palestine, especially in the Gaza Strip.
