Former French Prime Minister Dominique de Villepin criticized the ongoing Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, saying what most Arab politicians did not say.
In statements broadcast by the “Above Authority” program in its episode dated 9/20/2024, he said: Du Villepin “Gaza is undoubtedly the greatest historical scandal.”
He added that the ongoing war on the Gaza Strip is not a war like other wars, “because civilians are the ones who are dying… In Gaza, bodies are torn to pieces, heads are severed, and hearts and souls are broken.”
He stressed that the issue of Gaza is not being talked about in France, saying: “It is absolute silence, and the media no longer talks about Gaza. I am forced to search on Google, until I find a short news item that tells me the number of dead in Gaza.”
He considered what is happening to be “a real scandal for democracy in France… and all this under the name of war.”
Former French Prime Minister de Villepin called at the beginning of the war to stop “this vicious circle of using force and revenge,” explaining that the priority should be to prevent the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu From continuing his “suicidal” logic that will make Israel a besieged state.
