Despite the tragedy of the scene and the ugliness of the destruction, the residents of the Gaza Strip continue their historic steadfastness in the face of the Israeli occupation machine, which is killing, starving, and displacing them, forcing them to leave their land irrevocably.
According to a new episode of the “The Story Has the Rest” program, the people of the Gaza Strip continue to search for any picture of life despite the loss of 10% of them as martyrs, wounded or missing, and despite the vast scene of destruction left by the aggression.
The interim director of the Al-Karaj Municipality said in a report published by the program that the past year was full of destruction, fear, hunger, killing, and thirst in a way that is difficult to bear or even imagine.
Mahmoud Zuaiter, an artist and influencer, said: Gaza The people of the Gaza Strip not only need someone to help them overcome the devastation, but also to overcome the state of panic they are experiencing.
Ibrahim Abu Al-Rish, director of the Civil Defense Center in Al-Rimal neighborhood, who lost 83 of his family, also said that they are continuing to work, clearing the rubble, and rescuing the targeted people with the least possible means.
Abu Al-Rish, who survived the bombing of his house with minor injuries, confirmed that the people of the Gaza Strip love life and will rebuild it better than it was.
During the episode, Mai Al-Kafarna – who lost her father, her husband, her only daughter, and a number of her brothers – said that they were displaced from Beit Hanoun to Sheikh Radwan, and after their arrival, the house they were in was bombed and it collapsed completely, noting that her only daughter was breathing in her hands while she was under the rubble.
Certificate projects
Al-Kafarna added that the people of Gaza are patient despite the amount of affliction they are exposed to, and that they are all “martyr projects,” as she put it.
Away from the air, Al Jazeera correspondent Anas Al-Sharif – who lost his father during this war – said that what is happening is difficult to describe in some cases, pointing out that he was surprised by his mother on social media during an attempt to evacuate her from the Indonesian hospital.
As for Al Jazeera’s correspondent in the Gaza Strip, Hisham Zaqout, he said that people are living in other small wars represented in attempts to obtain the simplest necessities of life under the tight siege.
Zaqout concluded by saying that people are just trying to survive, and that he personally is currently living on one of the street sidewalks due to the frequent bombing and repeated displacement.
