According to what was reported by the official Egyptian News Agency on Wednesday evening, the Egyptian President issued “a decision appointing Major General Abbas Kamel as advisor to the President of the Republic, general coordinator of the security services and special envoy of the President of the Republic.”
She added, “Major General Hassan Mahmoud Rashad was also sworn in as head of General Intelligence.”
Major General Abbas Kamel (68 years old) has served as head of the General Intelligence Service since 2018, and the “General Coordinator of the Security Services” is considered a new position.
