Social media activists reacted to the United States' use of the B-2 Spirit stealth bomber to bomb targets belonging to the Ansar Allah group (Houthis) in Yemen on Thursday morning.
Houthi media said that 6 American and British raids targeted the areas of TV, Al-Hafa, and Jurban, north and south of Sanaa. Nine raids also targeted the Kahlan and Al-Abla areas, east of the city of Saada in the north of the country, the group's main stronghold.
And I mentioned US Central Command Centcom said the strikes were carried out using air and naval forces, along with a long-range stealth bomber.B2 Spirit“.
This is the first time that US strategic B-2 bombers participate in strikes on Yemen.
This strategic bomber is considered a stealth, and one of the most expensive aircraft ever, as its value, according to the US Department of Defense, amounts to (Pentagon) $1.1 billion.
This bomber is characterized by stealth technology that enables it to fly stealthily and silently to penetrate ground defense systems, and it has a long operational range, allowing it to strike targets thousands of miles away without the need for refueling or forward bases.
This bomber was designed to carry conventional or nuclear weapons, and can carry bombs with a destructive force reaching more than 60 meters in steep mountain fortifications, and vacuum bombs that can kill people in fortifications by drawing oxygen in mountain caves.
A Houthi challenge and an American message
In its episode dated (10/17/2024), the “Shabakat” program monitored some of the comments of Yemenis and Arabs on the American bombing of Yemeni targets with a stealth strategic bomber.
Ammar commented on the unprecedented American raids, saying, “Whatever has divided the Yemeni people, whether these bombers or others, the bombing remains a bombing, and our revenge against them will not end.”
Kamal went in the same direction, saying, “If he brings the world's planes and missiles, he will not deter us from our firm position with Gaza and Lebanon.”
An account called “Man” believes that when America bombs Sana'a, its goal is “either for the benefit of Israel or to give the Houthis size and political presence to cultivate in Yemen for years, because the Americans are studying their interests and how their presence in the Middle East will last.”
An account bearing the name “Homsi” saw that there was a message behind the bombing, saying, “In short, America says that we were playing with the Houthis before, but now we want to deliver a serious message.”
The US Secretary of Defense said Lloyd Austin This bombing constituted “a unique demonstration of the United States' ability to target facilities that our adversaries seek to keep out of our reach, regardless of how deep underground, solid, or fortified they are.”
The American newspaper The Washington Post considered the American strike using the stealth bomber “appears to be an indirect warning to Iran, which supports the Houthis.”
The newspaper added, “The B-2 bomber may be used in any American attack on… Iran's nuclear facilities The strongholds are Kantanz and Fordow, as they are the only ones operating and capable of launching GBU-57 bombs, known as massive penetration bombs.”
The Ansar Allah group pledged to respond to the American attack, and that Washington would pay the price for its aggression against Yemen, as Nasr al-Din Amer, deputy head of its media body, confirmed that the group’s position on… Gaza Lebanon will not budge.
