Al Jazeera’s window for covering the US presidential elections, an hour before the first closing of polling stations, focused on opinion polls conducted by US media after the popular vote.
According to a post-vote poll by Foreign Policy magazine and the Edison Center, “31% of voters say that the economy is most important in the elections,” while “11% of voters say that foreign policy is most important in the elections.”
In the same context, CNN’s post-voting poll showed that “49% of American voters are dissatisfied with the situation of the United States, compared to 35% of voters who consider democracy to be their most important issue.”
Other opinion polls, such as NBC, Fox News, and the Associated Press, addressed voters’ perception of the Republican presidential candidates, Donald Trump, and his Democratic rival, Kamala Harris, in some swing states, and the issue most important to them.
