ATP Australian Open 1/64-Finals
Klein – Korda: 13.01.2025 04:30 CEST
H2H: first meeting
Lukas Klein has won three of his last five matches. In his first tournament of the season, Klein lost in the opening qualifying round of the ATP Brisbane, losing against Tu in straight sets. Here in Melbourne, Klein successfully qualified for the main draw tournament. In the first qualifying round, Klein defeated Galarneau in three tight sets. After that, in the second qualifying round, Lukas won against Spizzirri in easy straight sets. Atmane had no answer for Luka’s game in the final qualifying round. Klein won in straight sets once again. Last year in Melbourne, Klein reached the second round as a qualifier, losing against Zverev in five tight sets.
Sebastian Korda has won three of his last five matches. This week in Adelaide, Korda reached the final, losing against Auger-Aliassime in three sets. The last match he played before the ATP Adelaide was at the US Open last August. Since then, Sebastian has not played any competitive matches. Korda underwent surgery on his right elbow, which is why he skipped the second part of the 2024 season. Last year in Melbourne, Korda reached the third round, losing against Rublev in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Korda is the big favorite in this match, but we disagree. Klein played three solid qualifying matches so far. He almost defeated Zverev last year in Melbourne. We expect a tight match that could go either way. Klein loves to play aggressive tennis, which is a perfect surface for him.
That being said, Klein covering the games handicap is a value bet.

O’Connell – Paul: 13.01.2025 06:00 CEST
H2H: 1-2
Christopher O’Connell has lost three of his last five matches. This week in Adelaide, Christopher won the opening round against Rinderknech in straight sets, as we had predicted. However, he failed in the second round against Kecmanovic, losing in straight sets as we predicted. In his first tournament of the season, Christopher lost in the opening round against Michelsen in three tight sets. Last year in Melbourne, O’Connell reached the second round, losing against Shelton in four sets.
Tommy Paul has lost three of his last five matches. This week in Adelaide, Paul reached the semifinals, losing against Auger-Aliassime in three tight sets. So far this season, Tommy has played only one preparation tournament. Last year in Melbourne, Tommy reached the third round, losing against Kecmanovic in five sets. His biggest result in the Australian Open happened in 2023, when he reached the semifinals, losing against Djokovic in straight sets.
Best Bet to Make
According to the bookies, Paul is the big favorite in this match, but we disagree. Christopher played solidly this year so far. He is a big server, so we expect him to win his service games comfortably. Tommy Paul tends to have momentum shifts in his game, so we believe Christopher will keep this match tight.
That being said, O’Connell covering the games handicap is a value bet.
