Netflix viewers have a few days to catch up on the spin-off of a beloved movie series before the second season hits screens.
The romantic comedy drama XO, Kitty stars Anna Cathcart as high school student Kitty, who goes on her own journey to find true love following the events of the film series, which followed her older sister Lara Jean (Lana Condor).
After the film trilogy was based on Jenny Han’s novel series, the writer developed XO, Kitty for the streaming service.
The first season was released in 2023, with fans calling it ‘spectacular’.
‘Finally! A fresh new show that makes you put your phone down and focus on the beautifully written masterpiece that they have created. It’s binge worthy as I couldn’t get enough of it,’ Lissa posted on Rotten Tomatoes, where season 1 holds an 81% rating.
‘I really thought this show would be just a cheesy romance about a girl who wants to be with her boyfriend. But there’s so much more to it,’ Johnel shared.

The upcoming 10-part season 2 will be available to watch later this week
It continues to follow Kitty as she returns to high school for a new semester at the Korean Independent School of Seoul.
It will also see the return of Peter Kavinsky (Noah Centineo), the boyfriend of her sister Lara Jean.
‘This season of XO, Kitty is all about where Kitty is going but also where she came from. And the opportunity to include Peter Kavinsky in that journey was so exciting,’ showrunner Jessica O’Toole told Netflix’s Tudum.
‘I can’t wait for the fans to see Peter interact with some of their favourite XO, Kitty characters and to see all of the other juicy surprises we have in store … including some big moments fans have been waiting for and others they will never see coming.’
It’s been teased this time around Kitty is ‘single for the first time in a long time and ready for a fresh start: no more meddling, no more drama but maybe some casual dating’.
However, after a letter from her mother’s past emerges, she sets off on a ‘wild journey’.
‘As secrets unravel and bonds are tested, Kitty will learn that life, family, and love are more complicated than she ever imagined.’
XO, Kitty season 2 is streaming from Thursday on Netflix.
