Former Washoe County School District employee Caitlin Rock is expected to enter a plea in district court at 9 a.m. Wednesday on 20 felony charges of sexual assault and sexual seduction of a middle school boy.
Rock was arrested in June, accused of having sex with a boy from the age of 13 to 14. She met the child in 2022 when she worked with his family on his attendance at Billinghurst Middle School in northwest Reno, according to court documents.
Rock, 46, was a district specialist overseeing students at Billinghurst and Swope middle schools. The district did not renew her contract after the arrest.
According to divorce documents Rock’s husband filed soon after her arrest, the couple has two children who were 13 and 14 at the time of her arrest.
If Rock pleads not guilty, a jury trial will be set. If she pleads guilty, a sentencing hearing is set about 60 days out.
