OMAHA, Neb. – A southward-moving front may bring isolated light showers to areas near the Kansas border early Friday morning. Otherwise, the day is expected to be cool and pleasant, beginning with sunshine before clouds increase in the afternoon. High temperatures will reach the mid-60s, though a northwest wind gusting up to 25 mph will make a jacket advisable.
Saturday will see similar conditions but with warmer temperatures reaching a high near 70 degrees. A chilly start is forecast for both weekend mornings, with temperatures in the low 40s and some areas in western Iowa possibly dipping into the upper 30s. The warming trend continues Sunday as afternoon highs climb into the mid-70s.
Entering next week, temperatures are forecast to return to the 80s. Rising humidity will accompany the warmer air, creating more summer-like conditions. This transition may trigger scattered storms from late Monday into Tuesday morning.
