The Miami Hurricanes have surged to the No. 2 spot in the fifth week of the AP Top 25 poll, their highest ranking since 2017. The team leapfrogged both LSU and Penn State following a 26-7 victory over rival Florida, which came after two previous wins against ranked opponents.
Ohio State remains firmly at No. 1. Penn State, which held the second spot since the preseason, dropped to No. 3, while LSU slipped to No. 4. Georgia and Oregon held their positions at No. 5 and No. 6, respectively.
Oklahoma made a significant climb to No. 7, marking its first appearance in the top 10 in two years. Florida State, Texas A&M, and Texas round out the top ten. Further down the rankings, impressive wins over ranked teams propelled Indiana to No. 11 and Texas Tech to No. 12.
This week’s poll also welcomes two newcomers, with TCU debuting at No. 24 and BYU entering at No. 25. Their inclusion comes as Utah and Auburn have dropped out of the Top 25.
