Bravo star Stassi Schroeder has publicly criticized Meghan Markle, alleging the Duchess of Sussex ignores her most ardent supporters in favor of her detractors.
During a recent episode of her podcast, “Stassi,” the “Vanderpump Rules” personality voiced her frustration over not receiving a promotional package from Markle’s new lifestyle brand. Schroeder claimed she has been a vocal defender of the Duchess for years and even had her public relations team reach out, but was met with silence. She suggested Markle dismisses her as a “lowly reality person” and remains “stuck in 2017.” As a result, Schroeder has vowed to no longer support Markle, unfollowing her on social media and declaring herself a “toxic hater.”
Schroeder further contended that Markle’s team sent promotional gifts to Claudia and Jackie Oshry, hosts of “The Toast” podcast, whom she described as consistent critics of the Duchess. She interpreted this as a calculated move by Markle to control the public narrative, concluding, “I think she’s controlling.”
This incident follows recent criticism from another of Markle’s former acquaintances, Lizzie Cundy. The radio presenter, who was friends with Markle before her relationship with Prince Harry, accused the Duchess of becoming “bitter” and “pretending” to be someone she is not. Cundy asserted that Markle is “fuming” because the public embraced Kate Middleton and criticized her new cooking show, stating, “It doesn’t matter how many pots of jam she makes; she has to stop pretending. She’s not Martha Stewart.”
While Markle has not addressed Schroeder’s or Cundy’s latest remarks, she previously responded to general criticism of her culinary projects. She acknowledged the negative commentary but suggested some critics attack her work simply to “pay their bills” and stay relevant, adding that many of them still use her recipes.
The Duchess has also faced scrutiny for her public appearances. She and Prince Harry were recently criticized online for a public display of affection at Kevin Costner’s One805LIVE! Festival. Some social media users described Markle as “needy and clingy” after she embraced her husband on stage, while others defended the couple, noting their “intimacy and love for each other are clear to see.”
