New Orleans Saints running back Kendre Miller has distinguished himself as the NFL’s most elusive ball carrier early this season. According to Pro Football Focus, Miller leads all league running backs with an “elusive rating” of 155.8. Through four games, he has forced 12 missed tackles on just 28 carries while gaining 104 of his 124 total yards after initial contact.
The third-year player out of TCU has solidified his role as the clear backup to veteran star Alvin Kamara.
Following the Saints’ 31-19 loss to the Buffalo Bills, Miller expressed satisfaction with the team’s ground attack, which he said was a deliberate part of the game plan.
“Statistically… Buffalo struggles against the run,” Miller noted after the game. “So, we made an emphasis like, ‘Oh, yeah. We’ve got to run the ball.’ We just got it going early, and when I got in there, we were just rolling, me and AK (Kamara). It really worked out. So hopefully, going forward, it can stay the same.”
