Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer XPeng Inc. announced record-breaking performance for September 2025, delivering 41,581 smart EVs. This figure represents a 95% year-over-year increase and is the first time the company has surpassed 40,000 monthly deliveries. For the third quarter, XPeng delivered 116,007 vehicles, a 149% surge compared to the same period last year. The company also highlighted significant technological progress, with its new VLA-powered XNGP advanced driver-assistance system achieving an 83% penetration rate in urban driving scenarios.
Other players in the electric vehicle market also saw significant activity. NIO reported its own record month, delivering 34,749 vehicles in September, a 64.1% increase year-over-year. The company’s stock closed up 5.7% at $7.62, approaching its 52-week high. Meanwhile, Tesla faced a class-action lawsuit alleging the company overstated the capabilities of its autonomous driving technology. Despite the news, its stock edged up 0.3% to finish at $444.72.
In related technology news, solid-state battery developer QuantumScape announced a partnership with Corning to advance ceramic separator manufacturing. QuantumScape’s shares finished the day down 0.5% at $12.32. Elsewhere in the market, Fulin Precision surged 20% to a new 52-week high of CN¥22.22, while Huagong Tech declined 6.7%, closing at CN¥92.48.
