Apple TV+ has released the first full teaser trailer for Pluribus, the new series from Vince Gilligan, creator of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul. The project reunites Gilligan with Better Call Saul star Rhea Seehorn.
The new trailer shows Seehorn’s character driving through an eerily calm world and having a conversation with a mysterious, government-like spokesperson who assures her, “We’re here for you,” prompting a confused and profane reaction from her.
First announced in 2022 as Better Call Saul concluded its final season, Apple greenlit the project with a two-season order. Early details described it only as a “blended, grounded genre drama.” After delays due to the 2023 writers’ strike, production began in early 2024.
While set in Albuquerque, the familiar backdrop for Gilligan’s previous work, Pluribus is a standalone story. Gilligan has confirmed the series will not feature crime or any connections to the Breaking Bad universe. The plot centers on Seehorn’s character, described as the most miserable person on Earth, who attempts to save the world from an overabundance of happiness. This premise was slowly revealed following a period of sparse updates and cryptic teaser clips.
