A statement issued by the service said, “On the night between December 22 and 23, the residents of Russia will be able to see the peak of the phenomenon of meteor shower known as Ursids in the sky of their cities .. This year, the number of meteors falling in the sky is expected to reach 10 meteors per hour.”
“The moon in this period of the year will appear in the sky in the first quarter of the night, and will disappear behind the horizon line after midnight, so people will be able to see this astronomical phenomenon clearly if the weather conditions are favorable in their areas,” the statement added.
And astronomers indicate that those wishing to see meteors falling clearly tonight in Russia, they should look up to the top of the horizon towards the north, and wait for the moments when the sky is free of clouds.
