The Royal Jordanian Airlines announced, on Saturday evening, that a wrong bell caused an emergency landing of the royal flight in the Lebanese capital, Beirut, less than half an hour after its take-off.
In a statement, she explained, “Flight No. (RJ404) was forced to land at Rafic Hariri International Airport in Beirut 20 minutes after it took off from the same airport, after an alarm in the cargo area, only to be found later that it was a false alarm.”
She added, “The plane continued its regular journey towards Amman, after taking all preventive measures by inspecting the plane by the Lebanese authorities to ensure the safety of passengers, and unloading all bags and cargo from the cargo area.”
And she continued, “The bags and cargo will be sent tomorrow, Sunday, to all passengers on another plane.”
The company affirmed that it “puts the safety of its passengers at the forefront of its priorities and above all the financial considerations that the company has to do in cases of emergency landing.”
