On Thursday evening, Egyptian journalist Ibrahim Issa revealed who called director Khaled Youssef upon his return to Egypt to attend the funeral of his brother Salah Youssef, who died after being infected with the Coronavirus.
Issa said: “Did the state’s projects stop or be paralyzed when the state released those who disagree with it or oppose its policies? I don’t know why Khaled Youssef’s return to Egypt? I don’t want to tell you who called him the first thing that came out.”
He continued: “President Al-Sisi called him to condolate him on the death of his brother, and said I want to see you soon.”
He added, “This means that the state is ready for dialogue. I mean, the state will not collapse if a young man wrote a tweet or presented something in need.”
He stated that there is a difference between those who differ in policies and those who differ in approach, indicating that the state has released a number of prisoners and opponents of its policies.
