Seldowitz, who was previously the South Asia official at the US State Department’s National Security Council, appeared in a video clip circulating on social media platforms, harassing a young man who works as a mobile food vendor in New York by calling him a “terrorist.”
The young man documented, via a video clip, that this official came to him several times and provoked him in many ways. Among them was his inappropriate talk about Islam, and he also threatened to deport him from America.
Scenes posted on the “X” platform show the street vendor repeatedly explaining to Seldowitz that he is currently working, asking him to stay away from him. However, the latter refused and insulted him, calling him ignorant because he did not master English.
“If we killed 4,000 Palestinian kids, you know what? It wasn’t enough.”

Seldowitz, after continuing to harass the street vendor, accusing him of supporting the Islamic Resistance Movement (agitation) and “terrorism,” he told him, “Do you know? If we kill 4,000 Palestinian children. That’s not enough, it’s not enough.”
In other scenes, Seldowitz also appears harassing the seller by uttering provocative and insulting words toward the Prophet Muhammad, may God bless him and grant him peace, and the Holy Quran.
Following the spread of these scenes, the Gotham Government Relations Foundation announced, in a blog post on the “X” platform, the end of its relationship with Seldowitz, who works for it.
The foundation described Seldowitz’s actions in the scenes as “vile, racist, and unbecoming of its standards of honor.”

Activists who circulated scenes of Seldowitz indicated that the latter had assumed the position of Deputy Director of the Office of Israeli-Palestinian Affairs in the US State Department, during the period between 1999 and 2003, in addition to being a senior political official in the ministry itself. They also published pictures that they said were of him sitting behind a female minister. Former US State Department Madeleine Alobright.
Activists demanded that Seldowitz be held accountable and condemned by the US administration, especially since he uttered racist statements.
New York Governor Kathy Hochel commented: “This is disgusting and unacceptable, and this vile rhetoric has no place in New York, and we strongly condemn it.”
New York City Council member Julie Menin also denounced what she called unacceptable hate speech, confirming that she had contacted the New York Police and they were currently reviewing the clips.
The United States provides unlimited support to Israel during its war on the Gaza Strip, which has been ongoing for more than 6 weeks and has left, to date, more than 14,000 martyrs, including about 5,800 children, in addition to tens of thousands injured and displaced due to the violent Israeli bombing.
