A Polish girl with Down syndrome received a special honor when she received a personal message from Britain’s Queen Elizabeth II, thanking her for sending her one of her paintings. On her Facebook page, she wrote a letter to the Queen of Britain and attached one of her favorite artworks.
The child wrote in the letter: “Your Majesty, my name is Vanessa, I am 12 years old, I live in the small town of Lipka in Poland, I have wonderful teachers and many friends, in addition to my mother Carolina, my father Rafal, my brother Alan, and my sister Notka.”
And the child added in her letter to the Queen of Britain, “I love them so much… I am of people of determination and Down syndrome… However, I draw paintings, and I would like to dedicate one of them to you entitled Land, Her Majesty the Queen… Greetings from Poland.”
The girl herself did not believe when the Queen replied to her with a personal message in which she spoke about how affected she was by the piece of art, describing it as wonderful, and Queen Elizabeth thanked the girl for thinking of her correspondence, wishing her success in her future life.
For her part, Mother Carolina interacted with the Queen of Britain’s response, on “Facebook”, and wrote on behalf of her daughter Vanessa, “Dreams were made to come true… Today I received a response to my letter from Queen Elizabeth.”
The baby’s start was in a difficult state when her real parents abandoned her, who did not want to bear the consequences of caring for her with Down syndrome, but Carolina and Rafal Bykovska adopted the girl at the age of 22 months, after making sure that they could be the best parents for her.
