Jordan confirmed on Thursday that it is working with Turkey to formulate an international position to end the Israeli war on… Gaza stripHe believes that this war is pushing the West Bank towards explosion.
The Jordanian Foreign Minister confirmed Ayman Al-SafadiDuring a joint press conference with his Turkish counterpart Hakan Fidan In the capital, Amman, there is unity in the Jordanian-Turkish position in stopping the aggression against Gaza, but Israel refuses to engage in any effort.
He added that the aggression against Gaza is pushing the region into more conflicts, and the Israeli occupation measures are pushing the West Bank towards explosion.
He pointed out that there is complete agreement with Turkey on priorities, and that the two countries want peace and are working to formulate an international position to stop the aggression against Gaza.
Al-Safadi explained that tension has begun to escalate in the region on several fronts, and this is all the result of the ongoing aggravation process created by the Israeli position that refuses to engage in any real effort to stop the aggression against Gaza and achieve a just and lasting peace for the Palestinians and Israelis.
For his part, the Turkish minister said that the security of Israel is not under threat, but rather the security of the Palestinians and the countries of the region is under threat.
Fidan added – in the press conference – that it is absolutely unacceptable for Israel to try to legitimize its attacks against the Palestinians for security reasons, stressing that what Israel is doing under the pretext of ensuring its security is nothing but expansionist and occupation policies.
He pointed out that the expansion of Israel’s territory after every war and crisis is the most clear evidence of this.
Fidan arrived in Jordan on Wednesday night, on his first official visit to the Kingdom since assuming his duties in June 2023, during which he will meet with King Abdullah II of Jordan.
Thursday was the 104th day of a devastating war waged by Israel on Gaza, which as of Wednesday left 24,448 martyrs and 61,504 injured, most of them children and women, in addition to the displacement of about 1.9 million Palestinians, meaning more than 85% of the population of the Strip, which has been under siege for 17 years.
