Washington- Tomorrow, Friday, an American court will consider a lawsuit filed by Palestinian human rights organizations and Palestinians residing in Gaza And in the United States, against the administration of the US President joe biden Because of her participation – according to the lawsuit – in the genocide carried out by the Israeli government in the Gaza Strip.
According to the text of the lawsuit being considered by a federal court in Oakland, California, charges were also brought against the Minister of Foreign Affairs Anthony Blinken And the Minister of Defense Lloyd Austin.
The plaintiffs include Defense for Children International-Palestine and Al-Haq, two leading Palestinian human rights organizations.
Ahmed Abu Ratima, founder of the 2018 Great Return March, Dr. Omar Al-Najjar, a 24-year-old trainee doctor at Nasser Medical Complex, and Muhammad Ahmed Abu Rakba, a field researcher at Defense for Children International – Palestine, also participated in filing the lawsuit. These plaintiffs reside with their surviving family members inside the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli bombing killed 6 members of Ahmed Abu Artima’s family, including his 12-year-old son, 5 members of Dr. Al-Najjar’s family, and 8 members of Mr. Abu Rukba’s family.
Random attacks
A number of American citizens and permanent residents of the United States also participated in filing the lawsuit: Muhammad Manasir Harzallah, Laila Al-Haddad, Wael Al-Bahasi, Basem Al-Qara, and “A.N.”, and their families, along with citizens and current residents of the United States, were subjected to Israeli bombing.
Their families remain at risk from Israel’s ongoing direct and indiscriminate attacks against civilians. The plaintiffs counted more than 100 of their family members who had been martyred at the time of submitting the application to the court, as indicated by the Center for Constitutional Rights website.
On behalf of the plaintiffs, the Center for Constitutional Rights and the Van der Hout law firm filed the case against the three high-ranking US officials for what they considered a violation of international law codified in the 1948 Genocide Convention, and the Genocide Convention Implementation Act passed by Congress in 1988.
Genocide
The lawsuit documented what many Israeli government leaders stated about clear genocidal intentions, in addition to the occupation army’s bombing of civilian areas and infrastructure, the use of chemical weapons, and the deprivation of Palestinians of everything necessary for human life, including water, food, electricity, fuel, and medicine.
The lawsuit makes clear that the defendants – Biden, Blinken and Austin – not only failed to prevent the genocide of the Palestinian people in Gaza, but helped to advance it.
This support was achieved by continuing to provide Israel with unconditional military and diplomatic support, close coordination on military strategy, and undermining the efforts of the international community to stop Israel’s relentless and unprecedented bombing campaign and complete blockade of Gaza.
The plaintiffs asked the court to declare that these American officials failed to prevent the genocide, and that they aided and abetted it, and to order an end to American military and diplomatic support for Israel while the case is heard.
