The Brazilian Ministry of Health announced, on Wednesday evening, that it had recorded 66,588 cases and 1,428 new deaths from the Coronavirus, which represents a tangible increase for both indicators.
The Ministry stated, in a daily statistics, that the number of registered infections with Coronavirus “Covid-19” in the country during the past 24 hours increased by 66588, bringing the total number to 10324463 cases.

This comes after the index of new infections with the Coronavirus in Brazil on February 20 reached 57,472 cases, on February 21, 29026, on February 22, 26986, and on February 23, 62715.
The ministry also stated that it had detected 1,428 new deaths caused by the disease, bringing the death toll from the pandemic in the country to the level of 249957 people, with a lethality rate of 2.4%.
On February 20, the daily death index reached 1,212 cases, on February 21, 527, on February 22, 639, and on February 23, 1386.
Brazil recorded the second largest death toll from the virus in the world after the United States, and the third highest number of infections after the United States and India.
However, the health authorities confirmed that the official statistics may differ significantly from the real numbers because the tests did not include all the injured.
