Reuters quoted two military sources as saying that a military base hosts American forces near Baghdad International Airport It was targeted at dawn on Tuesday with at least two Katyusha missiles.
The two sources said that air defenses intercepted the two missiles.
They added that a preliminary investigation showed the launch of 3 missiles, one of which landed near buildings used by Iraqi counter-terrorism forces, causing damage and a fire in some vehicles, without causing any casualties.
An American diplomatic facility in Baghdad was attacked on September 11, but there were no reports of casualties.
It is noteworthy that Iraq is an ally of both the United States and Iran, whose relations have been dominated by hostility for decades.
