She announced Kuwait Today, Wednesday, a new government was formed that includes 13 ministers, headed by Sheikh Muhammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah. This was stated in an Amiri decree, according to what was reported by the official Kuwait News Agency.
In a historic step, Abdullah Ali Al-Yahya was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in the new government, thus becoming the first Minister of Foreign Affairs from outside the ruling family.
Fahd Al-Sabah was appointed Minister of Defense and Acting Minister of Interior, while Imad Al-Ateeqi was appointed Minister of Oil, and both hold the positions of Deputy Prime Minister.
The Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Jarida reported that the new government witnessed the appointment of 10 new ministers, while Al-Awadhi, Al-Malik, and Abdul-Rahman Al-Mutairi maintained their previous ministerial positions.
According to the Kuwait News Agency, the Prime Minister of the new government pointed to the great challenges and aspirations facing them, which require assuming heavy responsibilities in this new phase of Kuwait’s history.
