Today, Tuesday, the Austrian Ministry of Interior announced a number of new controls for entering the country during the period of Christmas celebrations, and the application will start next Saturday.
A statement by the ministry stated that so far there are no restrictions on entry for travelers from Australia, Finland, Ireland, Iceland, Japan, New Zealand, Norway, South Korea, Uruguay and the Vatican, provided that the travelers have resided in these countries or in Austria during the past ten days.
The statement added that for all other countries there is a mandatory quarantine for a period of 10 days, indicating that from the fifth day, a person can take the Corona test for free and in the event that the result is negative, he can leave the country before the quarantine ends.
The statement indicated that exceptions have been granted to some groups so that people from these groups do not have to enter quarantine if they can show a medical certificate upon entry confirming that they do not have Corona, provided that the certificate has not been issued more than 72 hours.
He pointed out that these categories and cases include businessmen and health care providers who are doctors and nurses in addition to those who are summoned by the court and diplomats.
