A new opinion poll published by the British newspaper “The Independent” showed that the majority of citizens support the resignation of Prime Minister Boris Johnson from his post.
According to the Observer’s Opinium poll, 43 percent of respondents believe Johnson should resign, while 40 percent say he should remain prime minister.
Johnson enjoys significant support from conservative voters, with a large majority of 87 percent believing he should remain in office, and only 7 percent believing he should step down.
In contrast, 52 percent of citizens believed that Labor Party leader Keir Starmer should remain in office, while 20 percent believed that he should resign.
In general, the poll, which included about 2003 people and was conducted online between January 6 and 7, showed a decrease in support for the government’s response to the Corona epidemic, as 72 percent believed that the government did not respond to the epidemic as quickly as required.
