A prisoner who took an officer hostage was killed in an accident at the Oklahoma City Detention Center in the central United States on Saturday, officials reported.

Greg Williams, director of the Oklahoma Detention Center, said during a press conference that while the officer was distributing medicines to the inmates of the center, he was assaulted by at least one of them, and the attacker managed to take the officer hostage, and seized the keys that were with him, to release a number of inmates.
