The government security media cell in Iraq announced, on Tuesday, that a protester was killed and 150 security men wounded in clashes in the center of the country.
And it stated in a press release, that “the security forces have opened an investigation into the events that accompanied the demonstrations in Wasit Governorate during the past two days, and resulted in the death of a citizen by a gunshot and wounding another.”
She added, “The security forces in charge of protecting the demonstrators recorded about 150 injuries in their ranks, including three stab wounds, as they used firearms and other innovative local weapons and Molotov cocktails against the security forces.”
And she continued: “Also, a number of suspects accused of the flagrante delicto were arrested for investigation to find out the circumstances of the events, including one accused of having a firearm on the roof of a building, whose presence coincided with the death of the citizen.”
