Nikita Chibrin informed CNN that two troopers in his unit raped two girls in March, when his unit was northwest of Kyiv, but that commanders hardly punished them.

He explained that commanders shrugged after learning about it, and that the soldiers were crushed but not provided any formal punishment.

Chibrin told CNN that he was section of the 64th Individual Guards Motor Rifle Brigade, a device joined to alleged war crimes in Bucha.

Military services documents backed up this claim, CNN documented.

Chibrin said he did not commit any crimes himself, and that he did not see murders.

Ukraine claimed that as of September it had documented 34,000 conditions of alleged war crimes since Russia’s invasion began in February.

Russia’s protection ministry did not react to CNN regarding Chibrin’s claims.

Russia has broadly denied that its soldiers have committed any war crimes, including in Bucha.
