A senior official in the administration of US President Donald Trump confirmed that a breakthrough has been reached in the conflict between Qatar, Saudi Arabia and other countries, stressing that an agreement will be signed on Tuesday to end the dispute.
The official explained that according to the agreement, the four countries will end the blockade imposed on Qatar, provided that Qatar, in return, will give up the lawsuits related to the blockade.

He reported that White House advisor Jared Kushner helped negotiate the agreement and will attend the signing ceremony with two other officials.
“We have achieved a breakthrough in the dispute between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council,” said the official, who spoke to Reuters on condition of anonymity.
Earlier, Kuwaiti Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nasser announced that it had been agreed to open the airspace and the land and sea borders between Saudi Arabia and Qatar, starting this evening.
Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nasser indicated that the Emir contacted the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad and the Saudi Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, and it was confirmed during the call to reunite and start a new page.
Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Bahrain and Egypt imposed a diplomatic embargo on Qatar and cut trade and travel links with it since mid-2017, accusing it of supporting terrorism. Qatar denied this, saying the ban was aimed at undermining its sovereignty.
