Taliban spokesman Muhammad Naeem announced today, Monday, that the movement will send a 10-person delegation to a meeting on peace in Afghanistan hosted by Russia this week.

Naeem added in a statement that the delegation will be headed by Mullah Baradar, deputy leader of the movement and chief negotiator in the US-mediated talks in Qatar.
The Russia-sponsored conference is set to take place on March 18, and is among a number of diplomatic initiatives seeking to advance the stalled Afghan peace process.
On Saturday, the Afghan government confirmed that it would participate in the conference.
