The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) announced today, Monday, the cancellation of the results of the Indian team Mohun Bagan as a result of its withdrawal from playing against the Iranian team Traktor in the AFC Champions League (2).
AFC explained in a statement on its official website, “In accordance with Article 2, Paragraph 5 of the regulations for the second AFC Champions League for the 2024-2025 season regarding the competition regulations, we confirm that the Indian Mohun Bagan team is considered to have withdrawn after failing to come to Tabriz, Republic of.” Iran, to play the first group match in the AFC Champions League (2) against Traktor on October 2nd.
The statement continued, “Therefore, all matches played by the team are cancelled, and are considered null and void, in accordance with Article 6, Paragraph 5 of the competition regulations.”
He concluded, “To avoid doubt, any points or goals in the club's matches will not be taken into account when determining the final standings in Group A in accordance with Article 3, Paragraph 8 of the competition regulations.”
