Aaron Wan-Bissaka is desperate to force his way into Gareth Southgate‘s England squad ahead of next summer’s Euros and will resist switching allegiances to DR Congo, according to reports.
The right-back has not made a senior appearance for the Three Lions after he was forced to withdraw from the squad when he received his only call-up to date in August 2019.
The Manchester United defender has not been selected since and faces strong competition for the right-back spot with Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Reece James all ahead of him.

But the Telegraph report that Wan-Bissaka is determined to play his way into Southgate’s plans.
The defender still qualifies for DR Congo having not made a senior appearance for England but will turn down the chance to switch allegiances.
Wan-Bissaka played one game for DR Congo’s Under 20s in 2015 but has since represented England at the same level and has also played for the Under 21s.
The right-back has started the season strongly despite being left out of United’s starting XI for the opening game against his former side Crystal Palace.

The 22-year-old has played every game since and scored his first goal for the Red Devils in the 4-1 victory over Newcastle last weekend.
He also played a key role in keeping out Kylian Mbappe and Neymar during United’s 2-1 Champions League win at Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday.
Southgate rotated his full-backs during the last international break. Trippier started at right-back against Wales but was moved across to left-back in games against Belgium and Denmark.
Alexander-Arnold played as a right wing-back against Belgium with Walker in the right centre-back role while James started against Denmark.
