The Jordanian monarch, King Abd al-Thani, affirmed that the Kingdom’s second centennial will be a sign of continued development and giving, in the economic, political and social fields.
During his meeting with the heads of the Jordanian diplomatic missions, he said: “The Palestinian issue and the protection of Islamic and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem are among the top priorities for Jordanian diplomacy.”
He pointed to “Jordan’s strong relations regionally and internationally, and the Kingdom’s keenness to continue coordination and consultation with brotherly and friendly countries on various issues of common interest.”
For his part, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs Ayman Safadi affirmed that “the ministry is working to build on royal efforts in international forums to develop the Kingdom’s economic and political relations, and to coordinate on regional and international issues.”
He pointed to a package of files, foremost of which is “Attracting investment and shedding light on the Syrian refugees file and what the Kingdom will bear as a result, and mobilizing support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).”
Safadi stressed that “work is underway to automate work systems in the ministry and embassies to raise the efficiency of services provided to citizens.”
The meeting was attended by Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah, Head of the Royal Hashemite Court, Advisor to His Majesty for Policies, and a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs at the center.
